To facilitate access to information on the health condition of a person through a “Shuttle card” by health professionals
Project start date : 01/10/2018
Last updated : 06/03/2026
Beneficiary country : Mali
What problem does the initiative address ?
The consumers of the healthcare service are both insured and non-insured people. They are characterised by a lack of previous information about their health:
In the event of an accident where the person is unconscious,
In the event of illiterate patients,
In the event that the patients are disabled and cannot express themselves independently.
In view of these difficulties, as the medical profession does not have all the patient’s information, medical errors may be encountered.
Detailed description of the initiative
“The Shuttle card” comes from a free web and mobile platform which, once filled in by any member (registration, modification, consultation, medical follow-up) with a distinction of status between medical and non-medical staff, allows you to have a database and a history of your health condition at any time T. From this information a QR-CODE is generated, a unique identifier that can be displayed behind any medium of the member’s choice (telephones, key rings, bracelets, etc.). Via the scan of your QR-CODE, all healthcare staff can access the “Shuttle card” which provides general information on the patient, which would be necessary to establish a diagnosis. This scan can be done with any type of smartphone or tablet, with any QR-CODE reading application
The registered patients also receive complete medical follow-up notifications for a better understanding of their health at all times. The universal shuttle card, containing a QR code, is provided to enable healthcare professionals to access all of a patient’s medical information, including in situations such as accidents where the person is unconscious, cases of illiteracy, or certain disabilities that prevent communication.
What is the proposed solution added value ?
The idea is to provide a service in order to facilitate access to information on the health status of a person through a “Shuttle card” by health professionals. This way, the patient records their data via a free platform, this data is then summarised in a “Shuttle card”, which is coded with a QR code and therefore accessible to licensed healthcare professionals.
