Chronic diseases are the cause of 80% of deaths in Morocco. A chronic disease that is not or poorly managed leads to serious complications and often the patient is aware of them. If detected on time, complications of the treatment can be dealt with. However, these complications are a source of extremely early mortality. Moreover, in Morocco, this situation is aggravated by a combination of factors, among which the most discriminating are the low socio-economic level, illiteracy, distance from health centres and lack of therapeutic education.
For example, for cancer patients, chemotherapy can drastically reduce your immune system causing the patient to contract an infection and ultimately suffer from a toxic death. In the same way, the complications that a diabetic person may suffer from if they do not receive the correct form of care are rather serious: heart attack, CVA, blindness, kidney failure or leg amputation
This reveals a critical need to involve the patient in his or her treatment and to provide supervision and support to improve patient adherence to treatment and reduce the risk of complications. Patient adherence and their follow-up care are critical for successful treatment and it is therefore completely indispensable.
Today, remote patient follow-up care combined with patient therapeutic education does not take place in public and private health facilities. Tbibcom offers a support service for patients suffering from chronic diseases via a “patient” platform, available online and on mobile phones containing a therapeutic education module and a telemonitoring module.
