About the initiative

The goal of Forus Health is to create products and solutions with the mission of eradicating preventable blindness. In a world, that has more than 45 Million people blind, 80% of the blindness could have been prevented if they were screened and treated early. Forus Health is focused on addressing this issue to screen people for common eye problems and connect them to a treatment ecosystem to ensure that they don’t have to go blind. Forus Health’s innovation on product and deployment helps address this issue. Forus Health’s technology platform 3nethra can screen for common eye problems, which almost leads to 90% of the above blindness.

Our entire approach in addressing this problem is very different from others. The entire product & solutions have been created with the mission in mind and not the other way. We also understand innovation in product creation is not enough to solve this problem, hence have come up with business model innovations which helps us to leverage our technology solutions better. It is portable, affordable, easy to use and can be operated by a minimally trained technician.

Our solution is a technology platform called 3nethra (3nethra classic, 3nethra royal, 3nethra flora, 3nethra neo, 3nethra kiddo, 3nethra specto). It is a non-mydriatic , portable, affordable, rugged device for screening common eye problems. 3nethra classic is a non mydriatic anterior /posterior imaging device. 3nethra royal does refraction along with anterior and posterior imaging. 3nethra flora is a FFA device. 3nethra neo does ROP screening for premature babies. 3nethra kiddo is a pediatric refraction for amblyopia and squint. 3nethra specto is the world’s first wearable phoropter. All of these devices are connected to the cloud through the telemedicine module.
